South London: New Constituency Boundaries 2006

Each new seat can be described as a combination of parts of old seats. These table show this decomposition. The winner of the old seat at the 2005 election is shown by party colour, as is the implied winner of the new seat.

The implied results are now calculated using the local election results for the wards which make up each old seat. This should be more accurate than the earlier implied results which assumed each constituency was homogeneous.

The only change to the South London seats is that Labour are now expected to have won Croydon Central over the Conservatives.

Please remember that "South London" includes the western boroughs of Ealing, Hillingdon and Hounslow. This definition was chosen to make the two halves of London similar sizes.

There is some complication for seats which straddle the regional divide. The old seat of Ealing Acton and Shepherd's Bush was divided between Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham, but the new seat of Ealing Central and Acton is entirely in Ealing. The new seat of Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner is mostly in Hillingdon but contains some of the (North London) borough of Harrow.
